The 11' dinghy-vee is in every way a beginners boat. you will have a boat that is stable, sails well and is grateful to sail. but don't make the mistake thinking it will be boring to sail this boat – it will not.. The texas sled 18 is a flats boat with an inverted vee hull. the inverted vee hull or sea sleds is a well proven concept: air trapped in the tunnel lifts the hull and creates a cushion that soften the ride.. I've tried searching for plans online but a lot of the boat plans i'm seeing are more for boats that they have like in alaska which are jet boat plans. to give you an idea the company called hankos.com they have a very nice boat design in the v hull i like a lot.. Furthermore, due to the mini vee's simple shape, it is easily stretched into a longer boat that should be able to carry larger motors, especially the smaller 3-cylinders, or motors in the 140-180 lb. range. i have recently added information about such changes to the plans package and the construction notes..
